24cm Pocchari Yaki Yaki Grill Pan - Naked Finish
Pocchari is a slimmed down version of the Deep Yaki Yaki grill pan. This traditional pan was designed to grill fish under a gas grill but can also be used over a direct flame. The undulating pattern helps with food release (once seasoned). The beauty of Pocchari is using it as a serving dish at the table that is able to keep food warm and add to the overall aesthetic of the dinner table. Also very much at home in the oven as a roasting pan. Made by Oigen Japan.
Outer Dimensions: 24cm pan with 15cm removable handle
Naked Finish - coated with .... nothing
Oigen has developed a patented technique of finishing their premium range of cast iron cookware. After manufacture the cast iron is heated to an extreme temperature causing the surface of the iron to change composition. This 'naked finish' is pure and natural and not only helps resist rust but enhances the non-stick properties of the pan after correct seasoning.
Regular non-stick teflon pans are coated using chemicals like polytetraflouroethylene. They work well for a time but the non-stick surface ends up scratched and useless. Naked Finish cookware is coated with - well nothing, they are completely naked. Simply season your pan and you're good to go.
In this product the premium naked finish is only available in overseas markets. The more traditional cashew finish is sold domestically. It takes many extra steps to create the naked finish but in terms of performance and overall quality it is well worth it.
